The No. 5 ranked Iowa Hawkeyes (3-0) don’t figure to be too hospitable when they play host to Colorado State on Sept. 25 at Kinnick Stadium.

After having already posted wins over ranked squads Indiana (34-6) and Iowa State (27-17) by an average of 19 points, the Hawkeyes open as three touchdown favorites against the Rams and coach Steve Addazio knows that may not be a stretch.

"We’re not naïve,” Addazio said, according to a tweet from David Eickholt of Iowa Hawkeye Insider. “We know how good this football team is. It’s pretty evident. They’re the No. 5 team in the country and they should be.”

With five straight wins over ranked teams and a nine game winning-streak overall, the Hawkeyes have outscored their last nine opponents 305-113, enroute to posting their highest Associated Press ranking since the 2015 season, according to Hawkeye Sports.

During the streak, QB Spencer Petras has led the way, passing for 1,548 yards and 10 touchdowns against just two interceptions. Running back Tyler Goodson has also starred, rushing for 11 touchdowns and averaging 105.8 yards per game (5.4 per carry). Against Kent State in week 3, he rushed 22 times for a career-high 153 yards and a career-high three touchdowns.

On defense, the Hawkeyes have gone 25 straight games without surrendering 25 points, the longest streak in the nation among Power 5 teams. The team also tops the Big Ten in scoring defense (10.0), takeaways (8) and ranks No. 2 in rushing defense (81.3).

Iowa leads the Big Ten and ties for No. 2 in the country with six interceptions. On the season, the Hawkeyes have turned eight turnovers into 44 points, including three defensive scores.

Senior DB Riley Moss ranks tops in the country with two interceptions returned for touchdowns (30, 55), both in week 1.
