Ashley Hinson shares community visits and reflections on recent events

Ashley Hinson, U.S. Congresswoman representing Iowa’s 2nd district, shared updates on her recent activities and reflections in a series of tweets posted on August 27, 2025.

In her first post of the day, Hinson highlighted a visit to a local business, stating: "Absolutely loved my visit to Roots Nutrition Counseling - a great example of a local business making a positive impact in its community! Iowa business owner Jenn Arndt started Roots Nutrition Counseling after she witnessed many hospital patients struggle to take the skills they" (August 27, 2025).

Later that afternoon, Hinson addressed an incident in Minneapolis with a message of support for those affected: "Absolutely horrific and heartbreaking. Please join me in praying for the victims, first responders, and people of Minneapolis in the wake of this tragedy." (August 27, 2025).

That evening, she reported on her ongoing engagement with constituents through town hall meetings: "Spent my 46th and 47th town halls today in Worth and Howard Counties talking about how 47 is cleaning up the messes of 46. And I’m proud to stand with him in this fight." (August 27, 2025).

Hinson has represented Iowa’s 2nd district since replacing Abby Finkenauer in Congress in 2021. Before her current role, she served in the Iowa House of Representatives from 2017 to 2021. Born in Des Moines in 1983 and currently residing in Marion, Hinson graduated from the University of Southern California with a Bachelor’s degree in 2004.
