Ashley Hinson, U.S. Congresswoman representing Iowa’s 2nd district since 2021, recently shared a series of posts on her social media account addressing national security, political opposition, and energy policy.
On August 13, 2025, Hinson expressed support for former President Trump’s actions in Washington D.C., stating: "Thank you, Mr. President, for making DC safe again! We are a nation of laws & President Trump is restoring law & order in our nation’s capital & across the country."
The following day, she criticized Democratic policies and their popularity: "Democrats are the least popular they’ve ever been. That’s what happens when you try to raise people’s taxes, defend criminals, and claim that kids should be able to select their own gender." This post was published on August 14, 2025.
Later on August 14, Hinson highlighted her engagement with federal officials on energy issues in Iowa: "I was thrilled to welcome @SecretaryWright to Iowa and the Ames National Laboratory to highlight Iowa’s continued role in America’s energy dominance. Looking forward to continuing my work with the Trump Admin to pursue an all-of-the-above and all-of-the-below energy strategy that"
Hinson has represented Iowa's 2nd district in Congress since replacing Abby Finkenauer in 2021. Before her tenure in Congress, she served in the Iowa House of Representatives from 2017 to 2021. Born in Des Moines in 1983 and currently residing in Marion, Hinson holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Southern California.
