Ashley Hinson, U.S. Congresswoman representing Iowa’s 2nd district since 2021, shared updates on her activities in Washington, D.C., and recent legislative actions through a series of social media posts.
On July 21, Hinson posted about her family accompanying her to the nation’s capital: "The boys are in DC with me this week! First stop: the White House."
Later that day, she addressed her support for military funding: "Last week, I proudly voted to support the FY26 Defense Appropriations Act to build on President Trump’s peace through strength agenda & restore American deterrence at home and abroad—while eliminating wasteful spending. We are:
Delivering a pay raise to our troops and" (July 21).
On July 23, Hinson commented on agricultural policy regarding pork production regulations: "Bacon ban no more!
The Save Our Bacon Act will push back on California’s radical Prop 12—protecting America’s farmers & consumers. I will continue fighting blue state bacon bans."
Hinson has represented Iowa's 2nd district in Congress since replacing Abby Finkenauer in 2021. Before serving in Congress, she was a member of the Iowa House of Representatives from 2017 to 2021. Born in Des Moines in 1983 and currently residing in Marion, Hinson holds a BA from the University of Southern California.
