Ashley Hinson, currently serving as the U.S. Representative for Iowa’s 2nd district, shared several updates via social media on July 15, 2025. Her posts highlighted recent economic developments, legislative milestones in maternal care, and international trade agreements impacting her constituents.
On July 15, 2025, Hinson credited former President Trump’s policies for a recent budget surplus: "Thanks to President Trump’s America first economic agenda, we posted a $27 billion surplus in June!"
Later that day, she reflected on the anniversary of her stillbirth prevention legislation: "This past Saturday marked one year since my stillbirth prevention legislation was signed into law. Improving access to maternal care—especially in rural areas where women may travel over an hour to see their provider—is critical to protecting babies and reducing maternal deaths."
In another post on July 15, Hinson referenced comments from the President about expanded market access: ".@POTUS : 'This landmark Deal opens up Indonesia’s ENTIRE MARKET to the United States for the first time in History.' President Trump is reshaping our economy to empower hardworking Americans and expand market access for Iowa farmers. This is incredible news, and I’m grateful"
Ashley Hinson has represented Iowa's 2nd District in Congress since 2021 after succeeding Abby Finkenauer. Prior to her tenure in Congress, she served in the Iowa House of Representatives from 2017 to 2021. Born in Des Moines in 1983 and now residing in Marion, Hinson holds a BA from the University of Southern California.
