Hinson, who has been in office since 2021 after replacing Abby Finkenauer, is actively involved in supporting Iowa's workers and energy sector.
On June 21, 2025, Hinson expressed her appreciation for meeting with employees of Alliant Energy. She stated "I enjoyed meeting with the employees of Alliant Energy earlier this week to answer their questions and discuss my work to support Iowa's workers and energy sector." In the tweet, she emphasized the importance of an "all-of-the-above and an all-of-the-below energy strategy" that Iowans expect from Congress.
In another post dated June 22, 2025, Hinson commended former President Trump's leadership following military strikes on Iran's nuclear sites.
