Ashley Hinson, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Iowa's 2nd district, recently shared a series of tweets discussing her engagements and perspectives on national security matters. Hinson, who has been in office since 2021 after replacing Abby Finkenauer, is actively involved in supporting Iowa's workers and energy sector.

On June 21, 2025, Hinson expressed her appreciation for meeting with employees of Alliant Energy. She stated "I enjoyed meeting with the employees of Alliant Energy earlier this week to answer their questions and discuss my work to support Iowa's workers and energy sector." In the tweet, she emphasized the importance of an "all-of-the-above and an all-of-the-below energy strategy" that Iowans expect from Congress.

In another post dated June 22, 2025, Hinson commended former President Trump's leadership following military strikes on Iran's nuclear sites. She tweeted "Thanks to President Trump’s decisive leadership, our military carried out successful strikes on Iran’s nuclear sites tonight." She reiterated that Iran remains a significant state sponsor of terrorism and highlighted Trump's firm stance against allowing Iran to develop nuclear weapons.

Further addressing the situation with Iran on June 22, 2025, Hinson noted "The Trump Admin extended Iran multiple opportunities to come to the table last week." She criticized Iran for showcasing a new enrichment site instead of engaging diplomatically. Hinson pointed out that the military actions were a demonstration of resolve by the administration.

Ashley Hinson was born in Des Moines, Iowa in 1983 and resides in Marion. Her academic background includes a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Southern California obtained in 2004.
