On April 28, 2025, Hinson notified high school students residing or studying in Iowa’s Second District of an extension to the deadline for the Congressional Art Competition submissions. She stated, "Attention #IA02 high school students I’ve extended the deadline for Congressional Art Competition submissions to Wednesday, April 30th at 5pm! Later that same day, Hinson remarked on the security of the nation's borders under the administration of President Trump. According to her post at 21:21, "America's border is the most secure in our nation’s history, and @POTUS accomplished that in seven weeks. She tweeted, "Today I voted for the TAKE IT DOWN Act because we must do more to protect our children online—and this bill is a critical first step. Thank you @SenTedCruz, @RepMariaSalazar, & @FLOTUS for leading on this important legislation and holding bad actors accountable!"
Ashley Hinson, a graduate of the University of Southern California, resides in Marion, Iowa, and has made significant contributions in her role in Congress since stepping in to replace Abby Finkenauer in 2021.
