City of Waterloo Announces Leadership Change

The City of Waterloo is announcing two staff leadership changes.

Bridgett Wood is being promoted to Finance Director, pending city council approval. Wood has served as the city’s Finance Manager since September 2022. Previously, she was the Financial Manager at the Black Hawk County Health Department. Wood has worked in government accounting for over a decade. She holds a Master’s of Business Administration with an emphasis in public administration, a Bachelor’s of Science in business management with a concentration in accounting and an Associates of Applied Science in criminal justice.

Chawne Paige will serve as Interim Director at Waterloo Center for the Arts, pending city council approval. Paige started working at the 

center in 2001. He became Curator in 2013. Paige received his Bachelors of Fine Art with a studio emphasis in printmaking and graphic design with honors from the University of Northern Iowa.

Paige replaces Kent Shankle who is retiring after 28 years with the city.
