The City of Waterloo Sanitation Department will be CLOSED January 2nd, 2023 in observance of the New Year Holiday. Monday routes will run on Tuesday with the usual Tuesday routes.

No other days of the week will be affected for curbside garbage service.

In addition, the City of Waterloo’s Sanitation Department will once again be providing free curbside collection of real Christmas trees on the weeks of:

January 3rd through January 6th, 2023 and January 9th through January 13th, 2023

Please have your real, undecorated tree to the curb by 6:00am on your normal garbage day during these 2 weeks for proper pickup.

Trees taller than 6 feet must be cut down to smaller pieces. Plain, real trees are the only ones accepted for this pick up. Trees that are flocked (covered in artificial snow), have lights, decorations, or garland on them will NOT be collected.

If you have any questions, please contact the Sanitation Department at 319-291-4455.
