RedTail Soccer student-athlete Magnus Jensen has been named Scheels Male Athlete of the Week for his performances in the first two scrimmages of the season against Graceland University and at Wartburg College on August 17 and 27.
Magnus has been a key player at the beginning of the RedTails season.
He has been one of two players that have played the full 90 minutes in both preseason scrimmages.
Magnus has shown that he is a hard worker in both training and in games.
"Magnus has worked hard since day one of preseason," said interim head coach Anthony Velez.
"He is one who will work hard on the field and in the classroom.
He has done very well to adapt to the game out here and has played full 90-minute matches in our two preseason scrimmages.
He will play a big part of our defense this season."
"I believe that my performance reflects my practice," said Magnus.
"I went into day one with being competitive and wanting to be number one on the field.
I think that's one of the main things I bring to the games.
This team has a great level of talent and I know that we are capable of getting good results."
Jensen is originally from Odense, Denmark.
