RedTail Volleyball had a solid weekend on the road August 26th, winning three out of four games in Parkland School's Back Tournament in Champaign, Ill.
The RedTails took on Parkland College in their first match in which they would fall four sets (25-27, 22-25, 25-23, 20-25). Following their first loss of the season, they matched up against Car Sandburg College. Both teams battled back and forth winning opposite sets until the fifth where the Redtails would pull out the victory winning 3-2 in five sets (22-25, 25-16, 20-25, 25-18, 15-11.)
The following day, the RedTails took on Rock Valley College which they would defeat in an impressive three sets taking an early lead and never look back (25-13, 25-18, 25-22). The RedTails last matchup was against Morton College which they won impressively in a 3-1 match after splitting the first two sets but then winning the last two to take the victory (25-18, 21-25, 25-19, 25-17.)
Head coach Tyann Wolfensperger had some positive words after the RedTails second weekend of tournament play.
"It was great to see how we matched up against some great opponents. We are really excited to start conference play this week," she said.
The RedTails next matchup will come at home on Wednesday, August 31, at 6:00pm. Vs Iowa Lakes Community College and then Saturday, September 3, at Spoon River College at 3:00pm to follow.
