Beginning Tuesday, May 31, 2022, the City's contractor, PCI, will be closing down and installing a new culvert system across Viking Road. In order for the contractor to start, Viking Road will be closed for four (4) weeks during the crossing. 'Local Traffic Only' signs will be placed at the entrances of South Union Road and Production Drive for residents to access their property. No impact to driveways on Viking Road is expected.
The overall detour will be South Union Road to University Avenue to Hudson Road and back to Viking Road. After the completion of the culvert installation, a new roadway segment will be placed over the culvert and the road will be restored to traffic as it previously was before the closure.
