Falls Aquatic Center 2022 Season Information

2022 pool passes for The Falls Aquatic Center will go on sale beginning May 2. These passes can be purchased at the Recreation and Fitness Center (110 E 13th Street) during normal business hours. An express lane will be offered at the Recreation Center for those who have a valid Cedar Falls Recreation Membership or have created an account online at bit.ly/CFRecRegister

Hours and Passes 

The 2022 summer season will run from May 28 to August 21 (weather, crowd, and staffing levels permitting). The Falls will be open from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Sundays. May 31 and June 1 hours will be 3:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. due to Cedar Falls Schools being in session. If limited staffing occurs, hours may be subject to change. Holmes Pool will not be available for open swim this year due to staffing levels. 

The cost of a pool pass at The Falls for Cedar Falls residents will be $130 for adults and $125 for youth (17 years and under) and seniors (65 years and older). For non-residents, it will be $160 for adults and $155 for youth and seniors.

For a family pass, a family must meet all three criteria:

  1. An adult or two adults who are related to each other by marriage,   
  2. Any child who is related to either or both of the adults by blood, marriage, adoption, or legal guardianship, claimed as dependents for income tax purposes, and
  3. All of whom will occupy a single dwelling unit on a regular continuing basis.
A family pass is $210 for residents and $260 for non-residents. Each additional child is $10. Child care provider passes (good Monday through Friday only) are $70. Account photo IDs will be taken for new pass holders and updated for existing patrons at the time of purchasing. Daily admission will be available at The Falls at $3 for infants (two and under) and $8 for youth, senior, and adults. 

No refunds will be provided if pool closures or revised hours occur due to staffing shortages or inclement weather.  

Lap swimming will be open starting June 6. Hours will be Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 5:45 a.m. to 7:30 a.m. at Holmes pool. Lap swimming will also be available at The Falls Tuesday and Thursday from 8:15 p.m. to 9:15 p.m. as well as 8:15 p.m. to 9:15 p.m. on Sunday. Lap swim passes only will be $85 for residents and $95 for non-residents. 

Water walking will be open at The Falls from June 7 – August 19. Hours will be 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, and 8:15 p.m. to 9:15 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Water walking passes only will be $85 for residents and $95 for non-residents. Stretching Aqua Trim classes will be offered at The Falls this summer. Call (319) 273-8636 for information.   

Events

The annual Black Hawk Area Swim Team Summer Sizzler will be held July 7 – 10 this year. The lap pool will close at 4:00 p.m. on July 7 and remain closed until 1:00 p.m. on July 10 for this event. 

The doggy dip will be held on August 22 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. (weather and staff permitting) at The Falls. All licensed dogs must be accompanied by at least one adult owner and up to two additional humans. The cost of admission is $5 per dog (includes owner). Additional owners/guests are $4 each. Season swim passes will not be honored. All those entering the pool area should be prepared to get wet.

In order to provide a safe and enjoyable experience for all patrons, the City of Cedar Falls reminds users of the zero-tolerance policy against profanity, disrespectful actions toward staff, thefts, and violence at The Falls. If patrons engage in these actions, they will be asked to leave the facility. This includes all locations of the facility including concession areas and parking lots.
