Cedar Falls Weekly Construction Updates: September 20, 2021

Update

City of Cedar Falls issued the following announcement on September 20.

View the latest Cedar Falls street construction updates for the week of September 20, 2021:

Downtown Streetscape and Reconstruction Project- On East 4th Street, the contractor has poured the mainline pave and will continue with the parking stall pours after the concrete work on the west side of the 500 block of the parkade has been completed. The contractor has begun placing the concrete amenity pads along the parkade, and will be followed by the bricklaying contractor as they complete the west side of the 500 block.

West 1st Street/HWY 57 Expansion- For the week of September 20, crews will be working on installing sidewalk and trail on the north side of West 1st Street/HWY 57, placement of sod, and also placement of new signage. As crews work to finalize the project, lane closures should be expected for work behind the back of the curb and also for painting operations. Near the Hudson Road intersection, the current head-to-head traffic will continue as crews wrap up the northern side of the intersection. This will continue to result in restricted turning movements at the Hudson Road intersection. Trailered vehicles should choose alternative routes to avoid turning at the intersection.
