City of Cedar Falls issued the following announcement on July 27.
This year’s National Night Out in Cedar Falls will focus on neighborhood events to help build relationships between citizens and local public safety personnel.
Across the nation, National Night Out is celebrated the first Tuesday in August and is an opportunity to increase police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie. To connect with area residents, Cedar Falls Public Safety personnel as well as fire and police vehicles will be available throughout the day and evening on August 3 to visit local neighborhood events.
To arrange for a Public Safety visit to your event, please contact the Cedar Falls Public Safety Department at (319) 273-8612. To complete an express permit for neighborhood block parties in Cedar Falls, go to bit.ly/CFExpPermit. An express permit is only needed if individuals would like to close off a street for a block party.
The Cedar Falls Public Safety Department does look forward to hosting a community-wide celebration for the public (traditionally held at the Cedar Falls Target location during National Night Out) at a future date. This is tentatively scheduled during National Police Week in spring 2022 and Public Safety will keep the community updated on the details of this event as it draws near.
