City of Cedar Falls issued the following announcement on May 28.
Beginning June 2, 2021, the Iowa DOT's contractor, PCI, will be continuing with construction on W. 1st Street/HWY 57 by reconstructing the southeastern corner of the Hudson Road intersection and also continuing with work on the south side of HWY 57 between Hudson Road and Francis Street. In order for the contractor to begin, a full closure of the adjacent lanes will be required until paving is complete.
East & Westbound traffic on HWY 57 and North & Southbound traffic on Hudson Road will be maintained throughout construction. This construction will result in restricted turning movements at the Hudson Road intersection. Trailered vehicles should choose alternative routes to avoid turning at the intersection. The lane closures for this phase will be in effect for approximately one month, depending on the weather.
For safety's sake, please stay away from the construction area. Heavy equipment will be moving back and forth on the closed section of the street.
If you have any questions or concerns during the course of construction, please contact Ron Loecher with the Iowa DOT listed here:
