CITY OF WATERLOO: Free Holiday Parking Program

Parking

City of Waterloo recently issued the following announcement.

The City of Waterloo, Iowa and Republic Parking are offering a holiday parking program beginning on November 28. As a gift to downtown Waterloo holiday shoppers two hours of free parking will be given at metered parking spaces. The program will run through December 31, 2020. Visitors will need to download and use PassportParking®, a mobile parking app (available on iOS and Android). The user code for two hours of free parking is ParkLoo. The program is available during weekdays. There is no enforcement at meters on Thanksgiving Day and parking is always free on weekends.

The City of Waterloo has initiated this parking incentive program to support a robust holiday shopping and dining season for downtown businesses.  The holiday parking program at metered spaces with the PassportParking® app will allow businesses to distribute the code and attract customers to downtown to take advantage of Main Street Waterloo’s holiday promotions including Shop Small Saturday, Nov. 28.

“Free parking is a small gift the City can give to our downtown businesses and shoppers from across the Cedar Valley,” says Mayor Quentin Hart. “We hope it adds a little cheer to everyone’s holidays.”

USE THE CODE ‘ParkLoo’: To redeem the two-hour free parking visitors must download and use the PassportParking® app. This free benefit with the code “ParkLoo” is for two hours (Nov. 28 - Dec. 31). PassportParking® is free to download through the App Store or Google Play or can be found at www.PassportParking.com . Instructions are found on the Main Street website at www.mainstreetwaterloo.org/parkwaterloo.
