Ashley Hinson, U.S. Congresswoman representing Iowa’s 2nd district since 2021, recently posted a series of updates on her official Twitter account addressing national political issues and local community engagements.
On July 19, 2025, Hinson wrote: "Far past time to fully expose the long-time crusade against President Trump. This brazen effort to subvert our democracy is appalling…and they thought they’d get away with it. Thank you to @DNIGabbard for leaving no stone unturned to deliver justice & accountability." In this tweet, she expressed support for efforts aimed at investigating actions taken against former President Donald Trump and commended Director of National Intelligence Gabbard for pursuing accountability.
Later that day, Hinson highlighted her visit to a healthcare facility in Cedar Rapids. On July 19, 2025, she stated: "Last week, my team visited Surgery Center Cedar Rapids to tour the ambulatory surgery center and learn more about its operations. I appreciate the work being done here to support options for Iowans when it comes to their healthcare, and I will continue to build on my efforts," underscoring her focus on expanding healthcare options in Iowa.
On July 20, 2025, Hinson shared details from another community engagement: "I had the pleasure to visit with the University of Northern Iowa’s Upward Bound Students just outside our nation’s capital. I'm so glad I had the opportunity to thank these students for sharing their success stories in DC. Programs like these open doors to new opportunities and". She emphasized the importance of educational programs in providing opportunities for young people.
Hinson has served as a member of Congress since replacing Abby Finkenauer in 2021 and previously represented her community in the Iowa House of Representatives from 2017 until her election to Congress. Born in Des Moines in 1983 and currently residing in Marion, Hinson holds a BA from the University of Southern California (2004).
