Ashley Hinson, U.S. Congresswoman representing Iowa’s 2nd district, shared updates on her recent engagements with agricultural stakeholders and commented on national energy policy through a series of posts on July 18, 2025.
On July 18, Hinson highlighted a meeting with representatives from the American Soybean Association. She stated, "This week, I had a productive meeting with folks from the American Soybean Association. One of the best parts about my job is I get to hear from the very people who produce the food at our kitchen tables and take their feedback with me to shape policy and improve the lives of" (July 18, 2025).
Later that day, Hinson described her team's recent tour involving local agricultural organizations and educational institutions. She wrote, "Last week, my team had a great tour with the Linn County Farm Bureau and Kirkwood Community College. They visited the Kroul family farm and the Broulik family farm in Mt. Vernon, as well as Dan and Debbie’s Creamery in Ely! Our Iowa farmers feed and fuel the world, and I will" (July 18, 2025).
In another post addressing energy policy issues, Hinson contrasted domestic energy production policies with climate activism efforts. She posted: "In: Unleashing domestic energy production

The American people sent a mandate to lower gas prices & improve consumer choice, and the Trump Admin continues to deliver " (July 18, 2025).
Ashley Hinson has served in Congress since replacing Abby Finkenauer in Iowa’s 2nd district in 2021 after previously serving in the Iowa House of Representatives from 2017 to 2021. Born in Des Moines in 1983 and currently residing in Marion, she holds a BA from the University of Southern California.
