Ashley Hinson, a U.S. Congresswoman representing Iowa's 2nd District, recently shared updates on her legislative activities and meetings in Washington, D.C. through social media posts. Serving since 2021 after replacing Abby Finkenauer, Hinson has been active in addressing issues pertinent to her constituents.
On June 10, 2025, Hinson announced that she was back in Washington D.C., advocating for the interests of Iowans. Her agenda included working on a rescissions package, continuing efforts related to President Trump’s One Big Beautiful Bill, and introducing bipartisan legislation aimed at expanding care for veterans.
Later that day, she tweeted about a productive meeting with the Iowa Bankers Association. She expressed appreciation for community banks' roles in supporting small businesses and families while contributing to the local economy.
In another post from June 10th, Hinson criticized a vote by 148 Democrats which she claimed allowed illegal immigrants and foreign adversaries to cast ballots in Washington D.C. She attributed this move as part of an effort to open borders further and commended Representative Pfluger for his leadership on election security matters.
Ashley Hinson was born in Des Moines in 1983 and currently resides in Marion. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Southern California.
