On January 20, 2025, Ashley Hinson remarked on the participation of Iowans at President Trump's inauguration in Washington D.C., highlighting their enthusiasm for the new administration. She stated: "Incredible that so many Iowans made the trip to DC for President Trump’s inauguration! The excitement for the Trump Administration is real. Today is the day we take our country back!"

Later that day, she commemorated Martin Luther King Jr.'s legacy by acknowledging his vision and urging continued efforts towards equality and justice. On January 21, 2025, Hinson announced her introduction of legislation aimed at decentralizing federal agency headquarters from Washington D.C. This initiative seeks to address concerns about bureaucratic power concentration. In her words: "New: I just introduced legislation that would move agency headquarters out of DC to rein in unelected bureaucrats & end the centralization of power in the swamp."
