Ashley Hinson criticizes Biden's policies and announces new chief of staff

Ashley Hinson, a U.S. Congress representative for Iowa’s 2nd district, recently expressed her views and announcements on various issues through a series of tweets. Hinson has been serving in Congress since 2021 after replacing Abby Finkenauer and has a background in the Iowa House of Representatives.

On December 9, 2024, Ashley Hinson criticized President Biden's immigration policies, claiming that "Biden has allowed countless Tren de Agua gang members into the US – allowing them to attack Americans & terrorize communities across the country." She further emphasized that "These criminals should be at the top of the deportation list." The full statement can be accessed here.

The following day, December 10, Hinson commented on statements made by Mayor Bowser regarding compliance with ICE regulations. In her tweet, she asserted: " @MayorBowser said – under oath – that she’ll comply with @ICEgov. I plan to hold her to her word." More details are available here.

Later on December 10, Hinson announced a significant change in her team leadership by appointing Sophie Seid as her new Chief of Staff. She expressed enthusiasm about this development stating: "Excited to share that Sophie Seid will be my new Chief of Staff. She will help me carry out my mission of restoring fiscal responsibility, improving safety & security, & advocating for rural Iowa while providing the best customer service to constituents."
