5.2% of citizens unemployed in Black Hawk County in 2021

Black Hawk County recorded an unemployment rate of 5.2% among residents aged 16 and 65 years old in 2021. That’s 3,644 people out of the 131,396 living in Black Hawk County at the time, according to data obtained from the U.S. Census Bureau.

The unemployment rate in Black Hawk County has decreased compared to the 5.3% registered in 2020.

The percentage of people unemployed in Black Hawk County was greater than the statewide unemployment rate of 3.9%.

Of the 67,041 people who had a job during that time, 57 were employed in the Armed Forces and 66,984 belonged to the civilian labor force.
