TOPEKA, KANSAS–The RedTail Men's Track & Field team competed at the NJCAA Indoor Nationals and wrapped up the 2023 indoor season. The men broke two school records with multiple athletes earning Second Team All-American honors.

D'Artagnon Beaver ran the Men's 5000 meter, breaking his own school record with a time of 15:13.47. Beaver placed 16th and earned Second Team All-American status. Blake Osborn also set a new school record, running a 1:19.96 in the 600 meter prelims. Osborn improved his school record time during the 600 meter finals, running 1:19.43 to finish in sixth place. "He has worked hard throughout his career, qualified for the meet in both the 400m and 600m,  and this is an exciting and satisfying finish to his indoor career at Hawkeye Community College," said head coach Scott Roberts of Osborn.

The men's 4x400 relay team consisting of Blake Osborn, Brigham Daniel, Sean Knockel, and Chase Mullenix ran a season's best time of 3:19.19. They placed 16th, earning Second Team All-American honors.

"We had our highest team finishes in school history at the Indoor Regional meet on both the women's and men's sides and we will work to build upon that outdoors," said Roberts. "It should be an exciting outdoor season ahead."

"I am excited for our future, here at Hawkeye Community College, as we had several freshmen compete well in their first Nationals and our sophomores will anchor us during the outdoor season," said Roberts.

The RedTails have a month break before their first meet of the outdoor season on April 1, 2023. They will compete at the Mustang Open in Cedar Rapids, IA.
