In recognition of Black History Month, the Office of Diversity and Inclusion invites you to an evening of education, music, and food at the Soul Food Dinner celebration!
Prepared by LeChristopher’s Southern Cuisine staff, the dinner will include your choice of a homemade entrée, sides, desserts, and a drink.
The event will also feature an on-site lesson on the contributions of the African Diaspora to Southern Cuisine presented by Rev. Abraham L. Funchess, Jr., Executive Director of the Waterloo Human Rights Commission and pastor of Jubilee UMC.
Tickets
The first 60 tickets are free to Hawkeye students with ID and can be picked up in advance at the Unity and Understanding Center, Hawkeye Center.
Faculty, staff, and community members can purchase a meal on the day of the event at the Jubilee UMC Freedom Center. Each meal is $15.

Need a ride to the dinner? Students may sign up at the Brock Student Center or the Unity and Understanding Center. Seating is limited so sign up today!
