The Iowa State University Police Department issued 20 citations and made three arrests Sept. 11, the Cy-Hawk's game day.
All of the citations issued this year were for underage possession of alcohol, with 11 out of the 20 citations being issued to ISU students, according to We Are Iowa News.
“While the game outcome was not what we all wanted, thank you to the fans for making the overall day great," the university's police department wrote in a Sept. 11 Twitter post. "Final game day stats: 20 citations, 3 arrests, 1 arrest above .20 BAC, 211 first-aid calls. Thank you to all our first responder partners for all the help today!”
These numbers are significantly lower than those from the previous Cyclone-Hawkeye game in 2019. On that day, university police arrested 31 individuals, issued 52 citations and 10 people had blood alcohol level above 0.20%.
None of the three people arrested were Iowa State students. Two of the arrests were for public intoxication and one was for possession of a controlled substance, KCCI News reported.
Citations were down, but first aid calls were up for the year. Authorities answered 211 first aid calls, 32 gator medic calls and seven ambulances were sent out.
