Graduates earn 253 degrees, certificates from Allen College

About 99.6 percent of the 253 degrees and certificates handed out by Allen College in 2017-18 were to students in health professions and related programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the private not-for-profit institution in Waterloo conferred 161 bachelor's degrees and 67 master's degrees in health professions and related programs.

But the single most popular program was for a bachelor's degree in registered nursing/registered nurse. Data shows the school gave out 130 bachelor's degrees in registered nursing/registered nurse, followed by 35 master's degrees in family practice nurse/nursing and 20 bachelor's degrees in clinical/medical laboratory technician.

The college enrolled 662 students for 2017-18, including 342 in undergraduate programs and 320 in graduate programs.
