City of Waterloo issued the following announcement on June 29.
The City experienced intense rainfall during June 2020 leading to significant, localized flooding in certain areas. While these weather events are beyond the City’s ability to control, two avenues of assistance are available to residents:
- Governor Reynolds Disaster Emergency Proclamation for Black Hawk County - The Iowa Individual Assistance Program is offering grants to those impacted by the events of June 20th and the days following. Please see the attached document/link for more information on applying for assistance through the state. Operation Threshold is handling applications locally. Find more information here.
- Waterloo City Clerk’s Office – File an insurance claim by calling the Clerks Office by calling (319) 291-4323. Travelers Insurance will investigate the claim and make a determination as to the city’s liability.
