Ashley Hinson addresses homeownership, political violence resolution, and stillbirth awareness

Ashley Hinson, U.S. Congresswoman representing Iowa’s 2nd district, has recently addressed a range of national issues in a series of posts on her social media account.

On September 18, 2025, Hinson commented on housing policy by stating, "President Biden crushed the American Dream of home ownership. President Trump is fixing his mess and making the American Dream of home ownership attainable for working families again."

The following day, September 19, 2025, Hinson discussed a congressional resolution regarding political violence: "On the floor this morning: a resolution honoring Charlie Kirk and condemning—in the strongest possible terms—the assassination of Charlie, and all forms of political violence. Since Charlie’s death, the heartbreak across the nation has been immeasurable. I’m proud to be a"

Later that same day, she highlighted her involvement in maternal health advocacy: "Today I helped introduce a bipartisan, bicameral resolution to recognize September 19th as National Stillbirth Prevention and Awareness Day. We must keep working to expand access to maternal care and prevent families from experiencing this devastating loss."

Hinson has served in Congress since 2021 after previously holding office in the Iowa House of Representatives from 2017 to 2021. She was born in Des Moines in 1983 and currently resides in Marion. She holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Southern California.
