Ashley Hinson, U.S. Congresswoman representing Iowa’s 2nd district since 2021, addressed a range of topics in a series of posts on her official social media account between September 13 and September 15, 2025.
On September 13, Hinson shared support for Erika Kirk and her family, writing, "Erika Kirk’s strength is inspirational. May God bless the Kirk Family."
Later that day, she commented on violence against federal officers: "Just horrific. Unhinged assaults against our brave ICE officers will not be tolerated. That’s why I teamed up with @SenEricSchmitt to introduce legislation doubling the federal penalty for attacks against ICE agents. We should pass this bill ASAP."
On September 15, Hinson addressed crime in Washington D.C., crediting former President Trump for recent improvements and criticizing Mayor Bowser's stance on immigration enforcement: "In just a few short weeks, President Trump has made DC safe again after years of rampant crime & violence. It’s ridiculous that Mayor Bowser will no longer cooperate with ICE to detain criminal illegal aliens. The American people don’t want sanctuary cities, they want to feel"
Hinson has served as the representative for Iowa's 2nd district since defeating Abby Finkenauer in the 2020 election and previously served in the Iowa House of Representatives from 2017 to 2021. Born in Des Moines in 1983 and residing in Marion, she holds a BA from the University of Southern California.
