Hawkeye RedTail Women’s Bowling Team competes at First Tournament of the Season

The Hawkeye RedTail Bowling teams competed at the Five Seasons Classic on October 29-30, 2022. 

Madison Shontz was the highest finishing RedTail, placing 33rd out of 128. Shontz knocked down 871 pins and averaged 174.2 over five games. Lauren Funk was just behind Shontz, placing 34th and scoring 870 pins over the weekend. Kaitlyn Gifford rolled 776 with a 155.2 average, finishing in 56th place. Emma Pitz ended the weekend with 641 pins over four games. The women's team finished with 7,161 pins over the weekend with only one win over Coe College.

"Our ladies work hard and have really good chemistry with one another, which helps bowling in those long weekend events," said coach Roger Taylor. "Based on this comradery, we feel that they will continue to improve as the season goes on."
