City of Waterloo recently issued the following announcement.
The Waterloo Commission on Human Rights is presenting an International Human Rights Day Presentation at Friday, December 10, 6:00 PM. The virtual event is co-sponsored by UNI/Chief Diversity Office and Cedar Valley United Nations Association and American Association of University Women.
Keyah Levy, Vice President for Diversity, Equity And Inclusion, Simpson College and Abraham Funchess, Director of Waterloo Commission on Human Rights will share in a conversation on pertinent topics including: effects of the pandemic on disparities in this nation/globe, potential Olympic boycott due to China’s human rights abuses, the 1619 Project championed by Nikole Hannah Jones & New York Times Magazine.
Maureen White, Past President, Cedar Valley United Nations Association (CVUNA) will begin the event with an introduction to the significance of International Human Rights Day.
