In the Sunday game where the Cyclones were up against the Longwood Lancers, Maggie Espenmiller-McGraw jogged onto the floor in the last few minutes for the first time ever since her injury last year.
"So fun to be back in Hilton in front of the best fans," Maggie Espenmiller tweeted Dec. 5.
Espenmiller-McGraw was greeted by thousands of fans when her name was announced at the beginning of the game, The Des Moines Register reported. She scored 6 points in the game against Longwood.
"If we can get her to 10 or 12 minutes before Christmas, that would be phenomenal for our team, not just from a talent standpoint but the mental life that Maggie brings to this team is hard to quantify," Iowa State coach Bill Fennelly said. He had initially feared that her injury was going to end her college career especially because of the long recovery period.
The Cyclones made the most scores during the third quarter, shooting 50% from the floor and 40% from three, Iowa State Daily reported.
The Cyclones won 94-56 against the Longwood Lancers.
