Megan Fitzpatrick is returning as the assistant coach to the rowing team, according to the announcement made by head rowing coach Jeff Garbutt on Monday, Nov.1.

“Welcome back Fitzy! Garbutt announces Megan Fitzpatrick has rejoined the Hawkeye coaching staff,” Iowa Rowing tweeted.

Fitzpatrick served three years as the assistant coach at the United States Naval Army.

Fitzpatrick was part of Iowa’s staff from 2014 to 2019 – 5 seasons.

“Having coached at Navy the past few seasons and her time at Iowa has given her valuable experience at two top 20 programs, Garbutt said, according to Hawkeye Sports. "She has been to multiple NCAAs and knows what it will take to get us back there. Having worked with Megan in the past, I know firsthand how much she cares about her athletes and their development. It’s going to be great to have her back in Beckwith.”
