BBB Warning: Moving company Sirius Van Lines LLC not responsive to customers or authorities

Bbb

Greater Iowa Better Business Bureau issued the following announcement on  October 9.

October 8, 2021, Today Better Business Bureau is warning consumers about Sirius Van Lines, LLC, a moving company based in Denton, TX that has earned an “F” rating. BBB serving North Central Texas started a file on this company in May of this year after receiving a consumer complaint. Since May of 2021, BBB has received 31 additional complaints from consumers in 15 states to which the company has not responded.

In July 2021, BBB received an influx of complaints against this business alleging delays in delivering consumers' household goods. Some complaints are still pending a response from the business, however, consumer complaints allege a pattern of paying for services for movement and delivery of personal, home interior and furniture items across state lines that have not been delivered. Complainants state when contacting customer service they receive arbitrary and unfulfilled deadlines for delivery of their items and some report customer service is unreachable via any communication medium.

One California consumer told BBB, “The moving company showed up to transport my things from Houston to California. It has been over 6-7 weeks and they are not returning my calls or providing me with any update on where my things are. The phone numbers listed for their account are fake and out of service and the other number they have for the dispatcher is also not working and no one picks up the phone.”

Another North Carolina consumer complained, “I moved from California to North Carolina on May 15th, 2021 and paid about $2,700 for Sirius Van Lines to move my belongings. It took them over a month to arrive and when they did, a lot of my stuff was damaged, some of the boxes had been opened and most importantly, my Mac computer was missing and when I tried to contact their customer service, my calls and emails were ignored.”

“Better Business Bureau has always warned against fly-by-night movers since this is one industry in which TRUST matters. We encourage all consumers to do business with BBB Accredited Businesses who have been vetted against our standards”, said Monica Horton, BBB of North Central Texas.

As part of our investigation, BBB confirmed that Sirius Van Lines LLC had their license revoked by the U.S. Department of Transportation Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration for "refusal of audit/No Contact interstate commerce." The impacted license number is US DOT# 3526131. Such a license is required for businesses offering interstate (i.e. across state lines) moving services.
