City of Cedar Falls issued the following announcement on Feb. 25.
The Iowa DOT and City will hold a neighborhood meeting on March 12, 2020, from 5:30 - 6:30 PM in the Cedar Falls City Hall Council Chambers to share information with businesses and citizens regarding the W. 1st Street / HWY 57 Reconstruction Project. Information will be provided on Phase 2 of construction related items such as the reconstruction of the roadway, water main & services, and storm sewer main & services. The reconstruction will include W. 1st Street from Walnut Street to Ellen Street including intersections with W. 1st Street. The W. 1st Street/ HWY 57 reconstruction will also include the replacement of the sidewalk along the southern side of the roadway and the addition of a retaining wall adjacent to the reconstructed sidewalk.
All interested persons are invited to attend this meeting. Doors open at 5:30 pm with Iowa DOT and City staff available to review design requirements, expectations of the project, construction phasing and 2020 construction timeline. A large plan-view map will also be available for viewing for questions and answers by Iowa DOT and City officials.
