City of Cedar Falls issued the following announcement on Nov. 26.
On Tuesday, December 17, from 5:30 pm - 6:30 pm, the City of Cedar Falls will hold a neighborhood meeting to share with businesses and citizens’ information regarding the reconstruction of Washington Street from 6th Street to 8th Street. The meeting will take place in the Cedar Falls City Hall Council Chambers.
Information will be provided on design and construction-related items such as water main, storm sewer, parking changes and removal of the traffic signals. In addition, consideration will be given to convert Washington Street from a 1-way street to a 2-way street from 6th Street to 18th Street.
All interested persons are invited to attend this meeting. Doors open at 5:30pm with a brief presentation reviewing design requirements, scope and expectations of the project, construction phasing and preliminary 2020 construction timeline. Afterwards a large plan-view map will be available for viewing for questions and answers by City officials.
