Ashley Hinson addresses Israel attack anniversary, ICE agent challenges, and Norwegian heritage event

Ashley Hinson, U.S. Congresswoman representing Iowa’s 2nd district, marked the two-year anniversary of the October 7th Hamas attack against Israel and commented on issues involving ICE agents and Norwegian heritage in recent posts on her official X (formerly Twitter) account.

On October 7, 2025, Hinson reflected on the 2023 attack in Israel, stating, "Today marks two years since Hamas terrorists launched the brutal attack against Israel on October 7th. I will never forget the harrowing scenes of Hamas terrorists murdering entire families, dragging women through the streets, and brutalizing young children – the world saw true".

The following day, she addressed the challenges faced by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, writing, "ICE agents are on the frontlines protecting our country, yet assaults against them are rampant from media smears and Leftist calls to strip their protective gear. A couple days ago, Chicago’s mayor repeated his commitment to criminal illegal aliens with his absurd 'ICE free'" (October 8, 2025).

Later that same day, Hinson highlighted her participation in a celebration at Luther College in Decorah, Iowa. She posted, "This week, I was at Luther College to celebrate the 200th anniversary of the first organized Norwegian emigration to the U.S. I appreciate His Royal Highness Prince Haakon of Norway for making the trip to commemorate the occasion! Norwegian heritage runs deep in Decorah, and" (October 8, 2025).

Ashley Hinson has represented Iowa’s 2nd District in Congress since 2021 and previously served in the Iowa House of Representatives from 2017 to 2021. She was born in Des Moines in 1983 and currently resides in Marion. Hinson is a graduate of the University of Southern California, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in 2004.
