Ashley Hinson, U.S. Congresswoman representing Iowa’s 2nd district since 2021, has recently addressed several national issues in a series of social media posts.
On October 2, 2025, Hinson expressed her gratitude to former President Donald Trump for his work in pediatric cancer research technology. She stated, "Thank you to President Trump for working to ensure we use the best possible technology to fight pediatric cancer & help save young lives!"
Later that day, she acknowledged the efforts of President Biden regarding agricultural policy and market access. In her post on October 2, she wrote, "As harvest rolls on, our Iowa farmers deserve certainty and predictability. Thank you, @POTUS, for fighting to put America’s farmers first and deliver expanded market access for Iowa agriculture."
On October 3, Hinson criticized congressional Democrats amid government funding negotiations. She posted, "Democrats shut down the government over illegal aliens not getting health care. For Democrats, illegals come before Americans — every single time."
Hinson succeeded Abby Finkenauer in Congress and previously served in the Iowa House of Representatives from 2017 to 2021. Born in Des Moines in 1983 and currently residing in Marion, she graduated from the University of Southern California with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 2004.
