Ashley Hinson, a U.S. Congress member representing Iowa’s 2nd district, recently expressed her views on various national security and trade issues through a series of tweets. Hinson, who succeeded Abby Finkenauer in 2021, has been vocal about holding foreign entities accountable and enhancing border security measures.

On March 10, 2025, Hinson tweeted her appreciation for support from AISISteel while calling for accountability from China regarding U.S. trade law violations. She stated: "Thank you, @aisisteel! It's time we hold Communist China accountable for violating U.S. trade laws and ripping off American workers."

The following day, on March 11, 2025, Hinson addressed concerns over illegal activities at the southern border. She highlighted the use of tunnels by cartels to traffic drugs and people into the United States and advocated for legislative action: "Cartels are using tunnels to traffic illicit drugs and people under our southern border. The Subterranean Border Defense Act will help shut these tunnels down and secure the homeland!"

Later that day, Hinson criticized President Biden's handling of border security and commended recent legislative efforts to enhance technological capabilities for preventing illegal immigration: "Biden turned his back on our courageous CBP agents—neglecting them and the safety of all Americans. The House passed the Emerging Innovative Border Technologies Act last night. Let’s give @SecNoem & @RealTomHoman the most advanced tech available to prevent illegal immigration!"
