Ashley Hinson, a U.S. Congress member representing Iowa's 2nd district, recently shared updates on her activities and initiatives via social media. Hinson has been serving in Congress since 2021 after replacing Abby Finkenauer. She previously served in the Iowa House of Representatives from 2017 to 2021.

On February 9, 2025, Hinson posted about her meeting with the Waterways Council, Inc., highlighting the importance of investments in Iowa’s waterways. She emphasized that these investments are crucial for enabling Iowa farmers to transport their products to market efficiently. "Last week I met with the Waterways Council, Inc. to discuss vital investments in Iowa’s waterways that ensure Iowa farmers can get their products to market."

Later that day, Hinson commented on federal regulations concerning milk consumption in schools. With two growing children at home, she underscored the nutritional benefits of whole milk and criticized regulations that prevent schools from offering it as an option for students. "With two growing and energetic boys, we go through lots of milk in our house! Whole milk is a source of three of four under-consumed nutrients and benefits our kids physically and mentally. In another post on February 9, Hinson highlighted her staff's participation in ribbon-cutting ceremonies for two PACE Senior Care centers operated by UnityPoint Health in Hiawatha and Waterloo.
