Cedar Falls Construction Updates

Center Street Corridor Streetscape Project: All sidewalks and curve radiuses are complete. Light pole posts started being poured this week. Edge Restraints and paver pad should be poured next week.

Cedar Heights Drive Reconstruction: For the week of November 7, the City's contractors, PCI, and PCI's subcontractor, Owen Contracting, will be paving the mainline sections of Huntington Road as weather allows. Other crews will be working on various punchlist-related items throughout the entire project ahead of winter. Huntington Drive will remain closed between Cedar Heights Drive and Millennium Drive.

West Viking Industrial Park, Phase V (Located on Venture Way and Technology Parkway): For the week of November 7, the City's contractor, PCI, will continue with final grading, seeding operations, utility adjustments, and individual site preparation as weather allows. Other crews will be continuing with hand paving operations at intersections and tie-in points of the site.

Union Road Recreational Trail: The contractor is working on wrapping up punchlist items for this project.

Greenhill Road and South Main Street Intersection (Closure: Southbound traffic of Main Street on the south side of the intersection): The contractor will continue pouring the South Main Street paves and miscellaneous hand pours over the following weeks. The southwest corner screening fence has now been fully removed and installation of the new screening fence on this corner will begin the week of November 7.

West 27th Street Reconstruction: The City's contractor, PCI, is finalizing the installation of the storm sewer and starting the preparation of setting the grade for pavement. Other subcontractors will be working in the adjacent areas working on items such as site grading, lighting, and seeding.

Lake Street Trail: The contractor has poured the entire trail except for the ramps, as they are waiting for truncated domes to come in. The project has been seeded except for around the ADA ramp which has yet to be poured due to supply issues.  

2022 Alley Reconstruction Project

Alleys between 9th/10th/Olive/Walnut, 11th/12th/State/Bluff, & Tremont/Franklin/13th/14th: The alley project has been completed and now the contractor is working on minor punch list items and finish items before the project is wrapped up.

2022 Street Construction Project

West 18th Street Phase (located from Campus Street to Drury Lane) and Olive Street (4th to 6th Street): Besides any remaining punchlist items, the contractor has completed this work and the roads are fully open to traffic.

2022 University Avenue Biocell Project

The contractor is starting to work on the third and final location for the biocell project. They will start by saw-cutting the curb and gutter for removal and then they will work on pouring the modified intake.
