The new Bike Network Plan, developed by the Cedar Falls Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee and the City of Cedar Falls, will be presented at the Cedar Falls Planning and Zoning Commission meeting on March 23, 2022, at 5:30 p.m. at the Cedar Falls Community Center (528 Main Street).
The public is invited to attend the meeting and offer feedback or ask questions regarding the plan. Citizens can also view the bike plan map online at bit.ly/cfBikePed and contact Chris Sevy with any questions at chris.sevy@cedarfalls.com. Following the Planning and Zoning Commission meeting on March 23, a video of the meeting will also be available at bit.ly/cfBikePed for those that were unable to attend.
The Bike Network Plan takes into consideration the input gathered from the public outreach questionnaire and additional community events that took place in September 2021. The questionnaire included a preliminary plan map which provided recommendations on how the biking system in Cedar Falls can be improved in the future to allow for increased safety and access to streets, trails, and businesses. The main goal of the plan is to improve the daily commuting utility of the bike network.
Once recommended by the Planning and Zoning Commission, the Bike Network Plan will be presented to the City Council for their consideration and adoption (presentation tentatively scheduled for April 18, 2022).
