The Iowa State Cyclones women's volleyball team is returning to the NCAA tournament.
The team finished in the Big 12 with a 16-11 overall score and 8-8 conference record, cinching their spot in the NCAA tournament, according to Iowa State Daily.
"WE'RE IN!!!!!! We are headed to Minnesota and will play Stanford in the First Round of the #NCAAVB Championship!" Iowa State volleyball wrote in a Nov. 28 Twitter post.
The Cyclones will enter the tournament as an unseeded team and for the first round will travel to Minneapolis to face Stanford on Dec. 3 at the University of Minnesota's Maturi Pavilion, according to Cyclones News.
If the Cyclones win against Stanford, they will face next face the winner of Minnesota vs. South Dakota on Dec. 4. Stanford finished the regular season with a record of 18-10, with wins over Florida, Penn State, Nebraska, Utah and Washington State.
Iowa State did not qualify for the 2020 tournament, and this year marks Iowa State’s 15th all-time NCAA Championships appearance.
