President Joe Biden has proposed a new $1.2 trillion infrastructure package, and he was expected to sign the bill in the later part of the week of Nov. 8.

"Thank goodness for The Biden Infrastructure Plan!!!! going to help Iowa and their crappy bridges! #ThankYouBrandon," a Twitter user tweeted Nov. 9.

Iowa is expected to get billions to fix damages in bridges and highways, KCCI reported. Iowa is the state with the most structurally deficient bridges.

Cindy Axne, U.S. Representative for Iowa, voted for the passage of the bill, the Des Moines Register reported.

"I have been in support of moving an infrastructure bill forward since I got to Congress. So to finally deliver on an agenda for Americans and Iowans is a great feeling," she said.

She also said, "It is time we get everybody connected. And this is what will help Iowa really move into that into new market opportunities and education support, health care support — all of the things that broadband can provide in a state like ours."

Republicans in the House were overall critical of the massiveness of the spending package, but 13 Republicans in the House voted for the implementation of the plan, the Des Moines Register reported.
