A 5-year-old Iowa native is creating care packages for the homeless community.
The family of Henry Bolton-Menninga contributed to his effort by making an Amazon wishlist filled with snacks, hand warmers and hats, KCCI reported.
“We were so surprised when Lauren Johnson of KCCI called yesterday asking to interview Henry about his care package project!” Molly Bolton-Menninga, Henry’s mother, wrote on Facebook. “... Of course, Henry was so excited and jumped at the opportunity to share his story. A huge, huge thank you to all of you who have donated to Henry’s project.”
His mother said she’s not surprised her son wants to help others.
“Henry has a huge heart. He’s always looking for ways to help people,” she said according to KCCI. “That’s just who he is.”
Henry Bolton-Menninga decided to create care packages to give to people without a home in his city.
“It’s not that hard making them,” he said, KCCI reported. “I’m pretty fast at it.”
A lot of individuals have contributed to Henry’s packages by buying things on his Amazon wishlist.
Henry does his best to pack the bags on his own.
