City of Waterloo issued the following announcement on Nov. 11.
The Department Rebranding Committee, made up of police officials and community members individually score each submission based on the following criteria:
- Visibility of design
- Designs should embody any individual or combination of the following words: respect, service, vigilance
- Uniqueness of the design
- Conformity to the shape of the current WPD insignia
Artists and designers who have submitted designs to the City or the Police Department previously, are requesting to resubmitted their work now to insure it is considered in the contest.
Designs are to be submitted electronically as a JPEG or PNG file no later than December 26, 2020 by sending to contact@waterloo-ia.org. Questions can be sent to the same address.
