City of Cedar Falls issued the following announcement on Sept. 23.

The Census takes place every 10 years and is a count of each person in the United States by the United States Census Bureau. It is critical for determining the distribution of federal funding for vital programs and services in education, housing, health care, and more. Data from the Census also determines how many seats Iowa is allocated at the House of Representatives and impacts social services across Black Hawk County.
As of September 23, 2020, the self-response rate for Cedar Falls was 73.5 percent according to 2020census.gov. The City of Cedar Falls would like to remind the community to complete their form as soon as possible in order for the area to obtain a complete count. The Census can be filled out online at 2020census.gov or phone at 844-330-2020.
