CITY OF CEDAR FALLS: Golf Course Safety Reminder

Golf

City of Cedar Falls issued the following announcement on May 1.

To help keep our golf courses safe during COVID-19, Mayor Rob Green issues the below notice:

Neighbors,

The Pheasant Ridge Golf Course in Cedar Falls is currently open so the community can enjoy outdoor recreation while following state-mandated social distancing requirements. Some temporary restrictions are in place: only the members of an immediate household may golf together and golfers must also keep a six-foot distance from those not in their household. Staff is regularly disinfecting golf carts, and the clubhouse is closed to limit the potential spread of the COVID-19 virus. Foam has also been inserted into the bottoms of course holes, and golfers are advised not to touch the course flags. Only one person is allowed in the tee box at a time, and players on the fairway are required to keep a space of 15 feet from others. One person is allowed on the greens at a time, and only one person per golf cart is permitted unless the other rider is part of the person’s household.

Users of the golf course must abide by the social distancing restrictions currently mandated by the State of Iowa in order for the course to remain open for the enjoyment of all. Cedar Falls Public Safety and City staff will continue to monitor the golf course to ensure these requirements are being met, for the health and safety of all residents.

Thank you for your understanding and for your responsible enjoyment of city facilities during this challenging time.

Very respectfully,

Mayor Robert M. Green
