City of Waterloo issued the following announcement on Feb. 24.
The City of Waterloo, Iowa invites the public to meet the candidates for Waterloo Police Chief during informal gatherings on Tuesday, February 25th and Wednesday, February 26th at the Waterloo Center for the Arts Law – Reddington Galleries.
The two candidates will each give a 20-25 minute talk then open up for Q&A.
The four questions (talking points) that the applicants have been asked to address for the Community presentation/Q&A
1. Their education/background
2. Their experience
3. Their philosophy on community policing
4. Their first 100 day plan if you become the Chief of Police
Waterloo Police Department Lt. Corbin Payne will open at 5:30pm followed by Joel Fitzgerald, a former Fort Worth, Texas, police chief at 6:30pm on Tuesday.
Waterloo Police Department Maj. Joe Leibold will open at 5:30 pm followed by Wayne Hudson, a captain with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office in Omaha, Neb. at 6:30 on Wednesday.
